STUDENTS at Badger Creek primary school had a taste of Japanese culture last week.
Twelve exchange students from Osaka, Japan, visited the school as part of Japan Week.
The Japanese students are in Healesville as part of an exchange program with Healesville High School.
Japanese teacher Toko Osadczuk said the exchange students’ visit would help the younger kids to learn how to interact with different cultures.
“This is very different to my usual Japanese class,” Ms Osadczuk said.
“Usually I have to teach the kids one phrase over and over again but with this hands-on experience I am finding that they respond much quicker; it’s wonderful.”
The Japanese students worked with Badger Creek kids doing dance and calligraphy over two lessons.
