RSL in the pink

HEALESVILLE RSL will welcome the Very Special Kids’ big Pink Pig back to Healesville in September.
It is the fourth year Healesville RSL management and staff have got behind the Very Special Kids organisation to raise funds to support their projects.
The fund-raising starts with a night out for the grown-ups. A trivia night on Saturday 5 September is a great chance to get together with family and friends, test your knowledge, have fun and be in the running for lots of prizes.
Enter a team, or join one on the night. Dress code is simple – just add a touch of pink, and bring nibblies for a great night out.
On Friday 11 September, the Pink Pig will be in town from 3.30pm for the family afternoon in the car park of the RSL.
All the popular activities are back – the animal farm, face painting, fairy floss, a clown, fairy floss and a sausage sizzle.
This year the RSL staff and friends have got together to add a White Elephant stall to the mix and, according to committee member Sue Serra, it will be a great opportunity to pick up a bargain.
The raffle this year is huge with more than $1400 worth of prize included, thanks, Ms Serra said, to the fantastic generosity of Healesville’s business operators.
For one member of the RSL team, the fun won’t end in Healesville. Ms Serra has taken holidays to go on the road with the Pink Pig crew for the second year running.
To book for the trivia night phone the RSL on 5962 5017, or call in and register your team.
