Woori best in last

WOORI Yallock got off to a great a star in the division one preliminary final again Monbulk and looked the more settled side early as it raced to a four-goal lead at quarter-time
The second term went goal for goal and scores were no closer by half time with both teams scoring four for the quarter. Monbulk hit back hard in the third with six goals to Woori Yallock’s one and suddenly Woori Yallock’s lead was down to four points.
But Woori saved its best for last and booted seven goals to Monbulk’s three for a 28-point victory. In the end Monbulk could not match Woori’s dominance up forward – with Damian Monkhorst and Daniel Williamson kicking seven goals each.
Woori will now take on Upwey Tecoma in what shapes up to be a great grand final.

MONBULK held Healesville to just one behind as it booted four goals in the first quarter and probably should have been further in front at the first break. In the second quarter Healesville outscored Monbulk, but only by two behinds.
Healesville looked a lot more dangerous in the third as it booted three goals while holding Monbulk to just the one for the quarter. Going into the last term Healesville led by only six points but Monbulk finished the way it started by holding Healesville goalless and booting six for an impressive 33-point victory.
Monbulk will have the chance for premiership glory next week against Upwey Tecoma in the big one.

FOR the first half of this game Upwey looked to be in control as it led by 10 points at quarter-time and by seven at half-time. Monbulk did have plenty of the footy but was wasteful in front of goal as it trailed 4.7 to 6.2 at the half.
The third term was all Monbulk as it held Upwey scoreless while booting 4.2 to turn the seven-point deficit into a 19-point lead at the last change. Both sides added two goals in the final quarter leading to a 20-point win to Monbulk.
Monbulk now takes on Mount Evelyn in next week’s grand final, which promises to be a close affair.
