Police find body of missing man

POLICE have confirmed the body of missing East Warburton man Paul Krstic has been found in dense bush at East Warburton on Thursday.
An intensive search had been conducted over the preceding two days leading to the discovery of Mr Krstic’s body in bushland near Big Peninsula Tunnel on 23 April.
Sgt Kevin Largue, Officer In Charge of Yarra Junction Police, said they located the body at 8.50am with the assistance of the police helicopter and the Search and Rescue Squad.
Mr Krstic, 49, had left work in Bayswater North at around 1.30pm on Monday and a search was instigated on Tuesday with police and family members saying his disappearance was out of character and expressing concerns for his welfare.
A large SES volunteer contingent with members from Upper Yarra, Healesville and Brimbank were involved in the search, along with police from Warburton, Yarra Junction, and Healesville, the mounted police and the canine squad.
Friends waiting at the search point for news of Mr Krstic on Monday morning described him as a lovely, family man.
Local police conveyed the sad news to Mr Krstic’s family.
Sgt Largue said the coroner would investigate the circumstances around Mr Krstic’s death, but that he believed there were no suspicious circumstances.
