ORGANISERS behind the inaugural WHYLD Winter Warmer are calling for feedback – good or bad.
Around 300 people attended the free community bonfire and fireworks event put on by WHYLD community group on Sunday 21 June at Wickham’s Reserve.
Concern had been raised leading up to the event about the impact of fireworks on nearby horses.
Event organiser Meryl Knoll said the response had been overwhelmingly positive with lots of families and children rugging up for the afternoon.
“We’ve had a lot of good feedback from people saying how wonderful it was,” Ms Knoll said.
“They loved the fact that it was free and commenting on how nice it was to see people making connections, which was one of our aims for the event.”
The Hoddles Creek Red Cross did a great job on the sausage sizzle and there was plenty of warm food, mulled wine and music enjoyed around the bonfire.
Ms Knoll said however, it was a learning curve for WHYLD and while they had had one phone call after the fireworks, they would appreciate any comments and suggestions.
