TWO defibrillators are now accessible around Wandin and Seville for emergency situations.
The defibrillators were donated by the Golden Opportunity Shop in Wandin as part of their community donations for the year 2014-’15.
They are located at Seville IGA, Warburton Highway Seville and Wandin Motors Warburton Highway Wandin at the roundabout.
Secretary of the shop committee, Glenda Fraser, says she just wants to get the message out to the community that they are accessible if needed.
“We wanted to pick a place that was on the highway so that people could easily access them, but we also didn’t want them to be so accessible that they get vandalised,” she said.
The defibrillators cost about $2000 each, and she said the shop just wanted to give back to the community.
“Well, in reality you hope that they are never important because you never want them to be used,” she said.
“But unfortunately, one day they will have to be and that is why we have put them in those locations where they are easily accessible.”
Glenda said she would also like to thank the Bendigo Community Bank for their help in providing the community with these resources.
