Man charged after highway crash

A 36-YEAR-OLD Badger Creek man has been charged with negligently causing serious injury and dangerous driving causing serious injury after his car hit a motorbike on Maroondah Highway on Thursday 28 July.
Police will allege the man’s Nissan Murano wagon crossed onto the wrong side of the road and collided head-on with a Ducati motorbike near Hill Road in Coldstream.
As the Mail reported on Thursday, the motorbike rider, a 45-year-old Ringwood man, suffered life-threatening injuries and was in The Alfred hospital in a critical but stable condition.
The Badger Creek was arrested at the scene and interviewed by the police Major Collision Unit before being charged.
He faced the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Friday 29 July and the matter was adjourned until November.
